Edge Device definition

Edge Device means a server that is provided and maintained by CRISP and associated with Participant’s System, which will hold a copy of all Data of Participant which is available through the HIE and will be utilized for processing of Messages. Participant shall have control over the Edge Device and retain custody and control of the Data maintained in the Edge Device as specified in Section 1.02 of the Terms and Conditions (Exhibit B).

An edge device primarily enables a local user to connect and transfer data to a network, which is external or is non-propriety to the organization/user. An edge device serves as the entry point into a service provider, carrier or an enterprise primary network.
