Education Assistant definition

Education Assistant means an employee who possesses the required qualifications as determined by the Board and who is assigned by the Board to a certain school and/or program to work under the direction of the principal to assist teachers in the education of students.
Education Assistant means a person who is employed by the Board in accordance with Section 18 of the School Act.

  • The district shall continue to offer such training and testing opportunities during the employee’s workday until such time that all Education Assistant, Special Education Assistant, Health Aide, and Media Assistant employees have received the ESEA Qualified Endorsement.

  • If no program Special Education Assistant chooses the option to be excessed, reductions will occur beginning with the least senior non program Special Education Assistant, and continuing in seniority order until the appropriate staffing level is reached.

  • Seniority is based on the initial date of continuous employment with the District as a Special Education Assistant and the seniority ranking within the citywide special education program site, or other non-citywide program school site at which they work.
