Eligible Community Service Activity definition

Eligible Community Service Activity means: (i) jury service (including attendance for jury selection) that is required by or under a law of the Commonwealth or the State of New South Wales; or (ii) a voluntary emergency management activity;
Eligible Community Service Activity means: Voluntary emergency management activity; Donating blood or plasma to approved donor centres; Participating in sporting or cultural events if the Employee is a State or Commonwealth participant or official; or An appropriate activity prescribed by legislation, or agreed to by the Director.

Examples of Eligible Community Service Activity in a sentence

  • Community service leave An employee is entitled to take unpaid community service leave while they are engaged in an Eligible Community Service Activity and for reasonable travel and rest time.

  • A Staff Member who engages in an Eligible Community Service Activity is entitled to leave on Full Pay for a reasonable period consisting of one or more of the following: time when the Staff Member engages in the activity; travelling time associated with the activity; rest time immediately following the activity.

  • Community Service Leave An employee (other than a casual employee) is entitled to take unpaid community service leave while they are engaged in an Eligible Community Service Activity and for reasonable travel and rest time.

  • You are eligible for unpaid community service leave if you are required to engage in an Eligible Community Service Activity.

  • For the purposes of this clause - Eligible Community Service Activity means: voluntary emergency management activity; donating blood or plasma to approved donor centres; participating in sporting or cultural events if the Staff Member is a State or Commonwealth participant or official; and any other activity prescribed by legislation, or agreed to by the University.

  • An Employee is entitled to be absent from their employment:  for the time that the Employee is engaged in the Eligible Community Service Activity, including reasonable travelling time associated with the activity, and reasonable rest time immediately following the activity; and  if the absence is reasonable in all the circumstances (jury service is taken to always be reasonable).

  • An Employee intending for an absence to be covered by community service leave must give the Employer:  notice of the absence as soon practicable;  the period or expected period of absence; and  Council may require an Employee who has given notice of taking community service leave to provide evidence that would satisfy a reasonable person that the Employee is engaged in an Eligible Community Service Activity.

  • An employee called upon for jury service as defined by the Act as an Eligible Community Service Activity ("ECSA") must notify the Company as soon as possible of the date(s) which they are/were required to attend.

  • For the purposes of this C lauseclause 48.2, - Eligible Community Service Activity means: voluntary emergency management activity; donating blood or plasma to approved donor centres; participating in sporting or cultural events if the Staff Member is a State or Commonwealth participant or official; and any other activity prescribed by legislation, or agreed to by the University.

Eligible Community Service Activity means Jury Service required by Territory, State, or Commonwealth law, a voluntary emergency management activity and an activity prescribed under the Fair Work Regulations 2009 (Cth).

Except for miscellaneous leave without pay taken for full-time study commitments of approved students, which will count for long service leave purposes, all other miscellaneous leave without pay will not count for service, but will not break continuity of service.

FWC means Fair Work Commission or any successor. Immediate Family includes: Kinship relation an individual to whom an Employee can demonstrate a similar moral duty as with immediate family, specifically aboriginal kinship relationships and the customs and traditions of the Employee's family group.
