Examples of Eligible Community Service Activity in a sentence
A Staff Member who engages in an Eligible Community Service Activity is entitled to leave on Full Pay for a reasonable period consisting of one or more of the following: time when the Staff Member engages in the activity; travelling time associated with the activity; rest time immediately following the activity.
An Employee intending for an absence to be covered by community service leave must give the Employer: • notice of the absence as soon practicable; • the period or expected period of absence; and • Council may require an Employee who has given notice of taking community service leave to provide evidence that would satisfy a reasonable person that the Employee is engaged in an Eligible Community Service Activity.
An Employee is entitled to be absent from their employment: • for the time that the Employee is engaged in the Eligible Community Service Activity, including reasonable travelling time associated with the activity, and reasonable rest time immediately following the activity; and • if the absence is reasonable in all the circumstances (jury service is taken to always be reasonable).
