Emergency School Closing definition

Emergency School Closing. The Orono Education Association and the Orono Public Schools will examine Section 4.6 Emergency School Closing procedures and determine how flexible learning should be structured on school closure days. The committee will work to construct teaching and learning structures to be enacted in the event of emergency school closings. The parties have agreed to the following plan:

Examples of Emergency School Closing in a sentence

  • This provision will result in no loss of pay nor increase in pay as a result of an Emergency School Closing day that must be rescheduled.

  • All regular seniority employees will be paid for any day when school is canceled by an Emergency School Closing, such as storms, etc.

  • Emergency School Closing In the case of a pandemic, anydecision for an emergencyschool closing will be made bythe Superintendent in consultation with and, if necessary, at the direction of the District's local health department, emergencymanagement agencies, and Regional Office of Education.

  • Emergency School Closing In the event of an emergency school closing, announcements will be made by an automated phone call, over the local radio and television stations.

  • Paraeducators may utilize up to two (2) sick or personal business days per year on Emergency School Closing days.

  • Notice of closing will be given through radio stations listed in the "Emergency School Closing Administrative Procedures" updated annually and posted in each teacher's workroom.

  • Appendix O, Technology Aides Emergency School Closing: When school is closed because of snow or other hazardous conditions, employees will not be required to report to work unless called by their immediate supervisor.

  • The parties have agreed that paid Emergency School Closing [ESC] days will be capped at two (2) days.
