EMU Commencement means January 1, 1999 (the date of commencement of the third stage of EMU).

EMU Commencement means the date of commencement of the third stage of EMU (which at the date hereof is expected to be on January 1, 1999) or the date on which circumstances arise which (in the opinion of the Agent) have substantially the same effect and result in substantially the same consequences as commencement of the third stage of EMU as contemplated by the Treaty on European Union.
