Experience factor definition

Experience factor is defined as the sum of total teaching experience in the Shakopee District, effective the first duty day, plus the number of years of outside teaching experience, recognized by the Shakopee District for initial salary schedule placement at the time of initial employment by the District, pursuant to Article VII.3.7.

Examples of Experience factor in a sentence

  • Experience – 25% In order to be eligible for the Experience factor, the teacher must meet the INPRS rules for a year of service during the previous school year and must continue to be employed by the Western School Corporation for the current school year.

  • Experience factor determined as follows: For every two seasons spent coaching, the percentage will move up the step scale one step all the way up to Step 11.

  • If the Superintendent or designee determines that two positions have to be performed at separate time intervals due to the nature of the two positions, the coach will be compensated with two full separate salaries as determined by the factor system with the exception that the Experience factor for both positions be equal to the highest level of Experience that the coach in question holds for that season.

  • It is not uncommon to find that if there is a higher degree of formal Education & Training, there may be a lesser time required (Experience) for experiential learning, or the Experience factor would concentrate more on the experiential learning that is more typically obtained through practical experience (i.e. supervisory/management skills, negotiating/public relations/media skills, highly specialized equipment operation requiring experience to hone precision, etc.).

  • Concentrate on the academic component in this factor and consider the experiential component – if relevant to overall experience required – under the Experience factor.

  • This factor deals with theoretical training or knowledge, and should be dealt with before the Experience factor.

  • The term "step" shall mean "experience factor."   • Experience factor = In an effort to retain teachers at the school corporation, teachers who qualify under this factor will receive a base pay increase of $70 for each completed year of experience, not to exceed $1900.

  • Continuous Experience factor schedule: For positions paying less than $750: $0 for 0-3 years experience in the position $50 for 4-7 years experience in the position $100 for 8 or more years experience in the position.

  • Experience – $800 (20%) In order to qualify for the Experience factor, the teacher must meet the INPRS rules for a year of service during the previous school year.
