Field Reconnaissance. The ENGINEER shall perform field reconnaissance along the study corridor to supplement and verify, as needed, the existing pavement data.  Segment Identification: The ENGINEER shall utilize the PMIS data to divide the corridor into logical segments based on the structure of the PMIS database, geometry, pavement types, or other criteria. The individual segments will be confirmed based on field reconnaissance and discussions with the stakeholders.  Preliminary Pavement Analysis: The ENGINEER shall perform preliminary pavement analyses to evaluate the adequacy of the pavement structure to support anticipated future traffic volumes. The analyses will utilize available pavement structure data and anticipated future traffic volumes developed in task 102.6.  Development of Potential Corridor Pavement Improvements: Based on analyses of current condition and the preliminary pavement analyses, the ENGINEER shall develop pavement improvement needs in a list of candidate pavement projects.  Draft and Final Existing Pavement Conditions Tech Memo (.pdf and Word file)
