flight duty time definition

flight duty time means the period of time from the moment at which a crew member commences any duties associated with his employment before making a flight or series of flights until the moment at which he is finally relieved of all such duties after the termination of the flight or flights and includes a period, if any, during which a crew member is required by an operator to hold himself available at an aerodrome for the performance of any such duties;
flight duty time means the total time that starts when a pilot reports for a flight, or reports for standby that has a reporting time of one hour or less, or performs any duty required by the company, or performs any duty delegated by the Minister of Transport, and finishes when the engine is turned off at the end of the final flight (Transport Canada, 2010).
