The LEED Green Building Rating System and other similar environmental guidelines (collectively “LEED”) utilize certain design and usability recommendations on a project in order to promote an environmental friendly and energy efficient facility.
Specifically, Redeveloper shall use the equivalent of the standard established by the U.S. Green Building Council through its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (“LEED”) Green Building Rating Systems as a guideline for the design and construction of the Redeveloper Improvements to the extent design and construction based on LEED standards are reasonable and cost-effective.
The United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED Green Building Rating System will be used as a convenient and industry accepted standard of reporting and measurement of the materials and design strategies used in the Project, but the USGBC certificate will not be required.
