HIPAA Business Associate definition

HIPAA Business Associate means an organization that has a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with one or more “Covered Entities” or other "HIPAA Business Associates".
HIPAA Business Associate. Client understands that its relationship with eSimplify will require that a “Business Associate Agreement” is executed between the parties. The Business Associate Agreement utilized will incorporate the provisions of the Omnibus Final Rule and will conform with the privacy, security and breach notification requirements mandates under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).

  • Business Associate means the Contractor.

  • Business Associate Agreement means an agreement between DSHS and a contractor who is receiving Data covered under the Privacy and Security Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. The agreement establishes permitted and required uses and disclosures of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA requirements and provides obligations for business associates to safeguard the information.
