Hiring rate definition

Hiring rate means the initial rate of pay for a given job within the pay band assigned to the job family level.
Hiring rate means the salary level assigned to an employee upon initial employment with an agency.

Examples of Hiring rate in a sentence

  • Hiring rate where the new position is at the same pay grade equivalent - If the person's previous experience warrants, the person's starting salary shall be the maximum restored salary.

  • Hiring rate where the new position is at a higher pay grade equivalent - If the person's previous experience warrants, the starting salary shall be the step within the new pay grade equivalent that guarantees at least a 5% salary increase or an 8% salary increase if the pay grade is three or more pay grades over the employees maximum restored salary or step 2 of the new pay grade equivalent, whichever is greater.

  • Hiring rate where the new position is at a lower pay grade equivalent.

  • Any Employee, who voluntarily transfers to a station, base, or location that is not utilizing the Flexible Hiring rate at the time of transfer, will have his rate of pay reduced to the appropriate step, as if he had never received the Flexible Hiring rate.

  • The same concept would apply for an employee who voluntarily transfers from a station, base or location that is not exercising the Flexible Hiring rate to a station, base or location that is utilizing the Flexible Hiring rate.

  • In this case, the Employee's pay rate would be adjusted to reflect the Flexible Hiring rate being exercised in that station, base, or location.

  • The same concept would apply for an employee who voluntarily transfers from a city that is not exercising the Flexible Hiring rate to a city that is utilizing the Flexible Hiring rate.

  • Any employee who voluntarily transfers to a city that is not utilizing the Flexible Hiring rate at the time of transfer, will have his rate of pay reduced to the appropriate step, as if he had never received the Flexible Hiring rate.

  • Any employee, who voluntarily transfers to a station, base or location that is not utilizing the Flexible Hiring rate at the time of transfer, will have his rate of pay reduced to the appropriate step, as if he had never received the Flexible Hiring rate.

  • In this case, the employee's pay rate would be adjusted to reflect the Flexible Hiring rate being exercised in that station, base or location.
