HLA typing definition

HLA typing means matching of genetic material to maximize the chances of a successful transplant;
HLA typing means genotyping of specific HLA loci in order to assess the probability of acceptance of a transplant of a human organ or tissue.

  • I authorize Oncolab to perform Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) typing and Colony Forming Unit (CFU) tests on my child’s cord blood sample, on behalf of the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) for the results to be placed on their donor registry.
