Holiday Compensation definition

Holiday Compensation is provided in Article 8. means the first eight (8) hours worked on a Holiday which shall be compensated at one and one half (1 1/2) the employees normal rate of pay. In addition they will be compensated at their normal rate of pay for all Holiday hours they would accrue had they not been scheduled to work.
Holiday Compensation. A unit member required to work on any holiday shall either receive paid compensation, or granted compensatory time off, at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the unit member’s regular pay in addition to the regular pay received for the holiday. Note: The calendar week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday while the regular workweek begins on Monday and ends on Friday of that week.
Holiday Compensation means either pay or holiday compensatory time at a time and a half rate for those hours worked on a holiday. The appointing authority shall determine whether the compensation for this holiday work will be in the form of pay or holiday compensatory time.

Examples of Holiday Compensation in a sentence

  • Except as provided for in paragraph 350 (Holiday Compensation for Time Worked) persons employed for holiday work only, or persons employed on a part-time work schedule which is less than twenty (20) hours in a biweekly pay period or persons employed on an intermittent part-time work schedule (not regularly scheduled) or persons on leave without pay status both immediately preceding and immediately following the legal holiday shall not receive holiday pay.

  • Employees assigned by the Fire Chief and approved by the Deputy City Manager from a 56-hour work week to temporary 40-hour work week assignments of less than one year which would cause that employee a loss of Holiday Compensation may be compensated by the payment of Holiday Compensation at the employee's normal 56-hour base pay plus longevity rate for all holidays occurring during the temporary 40-hour assignment.

  • Employees may cash-out Holiday Compensation at the time of separation or retirement but may not cash-out Holiday Compensation prior to separation or retirement.

  • In addition, sections in the agreement specific to Communications Dispatchers include (1) Overtime section 11.4.3 and (2) Holiday Compensation section 13.3.3.

  • Holiday Compensation shall be calculated as follows: total hours worked, times holiday hours in the month, divided by total possible work hours in month or pay period.

  • Basic Compensation means Salary and Benefits.

  • Earned Compensation means any Annual Base Salary earned, but unpaid, for services rendered to the Company on or prior to the date on which the Employment Period ends pursuant to Section 3(a) (but excluding any salary and interest accrued thereon payment of which has been deferred).

  • Special compensation means payment to an adult foster care facility to ensure the provision of a specialized program in addition to the basic payment for adult foster care. Special compensation does not include payment received directly from the Medicaid program for personal care services for a resident, or payment received under the supplemental security income program.

  • Annual Compensation means the wages paid to the member during covered employment within the meaning of Section 3401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, but determined without regard to any rules that limit the remuneration included in wages based upon the nature or location of employment or services performed during the plan year plus amounts excluded under Section 414(h)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code and less reimbursements or other expense allowances, cash, or noncash fringe benefits or both, deferred compensation, and welfare benefits. Annual compensation for determining benefits during any determination period may not exceed the maximum compensation allowed as adjusted for cost of living in accordance with §5-10D-7 of this code and Section 401(a)(17) of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • Termination Compensation means a monthly cash amount equal to one-twelfth (1/12th) of the highest amount of the annual cash compensation (including cash bonuses and other cash-based compensation, including for these purposes amounts earned or payable whether or not deferred) received by Executive during any one of the three (3) calendar years immediately preceding the calendar year in which Executive’s Termination Date occurs; provided, that if the cash compensation received by Executive during the Termination Year exceeds the highest amount of the annual cash compensation received by Executive during any one of the immediately preceding three (3) consecutive calendar years, the cash compensation received by Executive during the Termination Year shall be deemed to be Executive’s highest amount of annual cash compensation. In no event shall Executive’s Termination Compensation include equity-based compensation (e.g., income realized as a result of Executive’s exercise of non-qualified stock options or other stock based benefits).
