Holiday Scheduling. With the exception of employees in the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants or other departments operating on a 24-hour basis or schedule, regular full-time employees shall, normally not be required to be on duty on holidays unless the employees services are required in the interests of the public health, safety or general welfare.
Holiday Scheduling. When a holiday falls on an employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the employee shall receive either an alternate day off or pay for the holiday in accordance with Article 13.1.2 in this Agreement. Holiday Scheduling. No later than the second Wednesday prior to the beginning of the week in which a holiday observed hereunder occurs (exclusive of personal holidays), the Employer shall post in each store a holiday volunteer work list. An employee desirous of working the upcoming holiday, in the job assignment which he normally performs, shall sign such list no later than the Tuesday prior to the holiday week. Signing of another employee's name on such list shall be cause for disciplinary action. The Employer will select the necessary employees from this list in accordance with seniority, within each store and department, considering the job assignment required, and provided the employee normally performs the work required. Should the Employer not be able to staff his schedule requirements through this procedure, qualified employees shall be assigned the remaining available schedules by reverse seniority, within their respective classifications within each department and store.
