Holy Days definition

Holy Days means the Jewish Sabbath (one hour before sundown on Friday to one hour after sundown on Saturday) and the Jewish Holy Days specified in the Schedule 1

Examples of Holy Days in a sentence

  • Up to a maximum of three (3) school days shall be granted for observance of recognized Holy Days.

  • Up to a maximum of two (2) working days per school year for urgent matters (including adoptive and paternity leave), or observance of recognized religious Holy Days, or emergency family-related matters or community or public service which cannot be conducted other than during working hours may be allowed.

  • A teacher is allowed a leave of absence for the observance of recognized Holy Days.

  • Employees are entitled to up to two days leave of absence without pay per calendar year to observe spiritual, cultural or Holy Days not observed on days identified in Clause 18.1 (Statutory Holidays).

  • Employees are entitled to up to two days leave of absence without pay per calendar year to observe spiritual, cultural or Holy Days not observed on days identified in Clause 16.1. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld and may be subject to operational requirements.

  • Employees whose religious faiths have High Holy Days not scheduled on the School Calendar shall be permitted a religious leave not to exceed two (2) days per year.

  • No function may be held on Friday afternoons, Shabbat (other than Bar/Bat Mitzvah receptions), Holy Days or Festivals.

  • Where Religious Holy Days coincide with regular working days, leave shall be granted without loss of pay to a maximum of three (3) days in any one school year.

  • By ensuring you and your child(ren) is at Mass each and every weekend including the Holy Days of Obligation.

  • The Superintendent will grant Jewish Holy Days without loss of pay to individuals of the Jewish faith or members of their immediate family who request to observe said holy day.

Related to Holy Days

  • Day/Days means calendar days, inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

  • Days means calendar days.

  • Business Days means Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays.

  • Duty Days means all days during the taxable year from the beginning of the professional athletic team’s official preseason training period through the last game in which the team competes or is scheduled to compete.

  • Banking Days are days on which banks are open both in the country of the currency stipulated for the Purchase Price in Clause 1 and in the place of closing stipulated in Clause 8.
