Infrastructure debt fund definition
Infrastructure debt fund. (‘IDF’) means a infrastructure debt fund as defined in clause 1 of the regulation 49L of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Mutual Fund) Regulations, 1996. As per clause 1 of regulation 49L ,an ‘infrastructure debt fund scheme’ would mean, a scheme which invests primarily (minimum 90% of scheme assets) in debt securities or securitized debt instrument of infrastructure companies or infrastructure capital companies or infrastructure projects or special purpose vehicles, etc or other permissible assets in accordance with these regulations or bank loans in respect of completed and revenue generating projects of infrastructure companies or projects or special purpose vehicles.
Infrastructure debt fund means any fund whose activities are solely the making, purchasing or investing in loans or debt securities in infrastructure and/or similar assets and which, to the extent it is an Affiliate or Related Fund of an Infrastructure Equity Investment Fund, is managed or controlled independently from such Infrastructure Equity Investment Fund and has established procedures which will prevent confidential information supplied to such entity from being transmitted or otherwise made available to such Infrastructure Equity Investment Fund.
Infrastructure debt fund means the infrastructure debt fund notified by the Central Government in the Official Gazette under clause (47) of section 10 of the Act.”.
