Initial Research definition

Initial Research means as is defined in Section 7.2 hereof.
Initial Research means the initial research performed by or on behalf of the Licensor, which shall be limited to research directly related to the Field, and as further detailed in the Development Plan set forth in Schedule 1.5.5 attached hereto.
Initial Research means the research activities to be performed mainly within the Initial Research Term on a Target-by-Target or Product-by-Product basis, but sometimes performed before the IND at the latest for each Product generated from a Licensed Target.

Examples of Initial Research in a sentence

  • Each such one (1) year extension shall be requested by Juno in writing no later than (a) with respect to the first extension, [**] months prior to the expiration date of the Initial Research Program Term, and (b) with respect to the second extension, [**] months prior to the expiration of the first extension.

  • Both parties intend to identify and propose additional Projects (including appropriate product driven targets) that will justify the extension of the Research Program, and agree that not less than six (6) months before expiration of the Initial Research Term and any Extended Research Term, the Executive Committee will meet to discuss possible Projects for extension of the Research Program.

  • The Initial Research Program Term may be extended for up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods (seven (7) years total).

  • No amounts shall be due Optimer by Cempra for the conduct of the Initial Research.

  • All Initial Research, including any Macrolide Antibiotics, Information, inventions, know-how, data, information, or other intellectual property rights created pursuant to the Initial Research, is deemed included within the scope of this Agreement.

  • The Parties may agree to extend the Research Term by extending the Initial Research Funding Period as explained in further detail in Section 9.2.2 below.

  • The CUE-103 Initial Research Plan shall, at a minimum, unless the Parties agree otherwise, be reasonably designed to include Research activities for CUE-103 Compounds containing the Initial Collaboration Allele(s) reasonably required to accomplish the filing of an IND [**] and shall be consistent with the Template Initial Research Plan.

Related to Initial Research

  • industrial research means the planned research or critical investigation aimed at the acquisition of new knowledge and skills for developing new products, processes or services or for bringing about a significant improvement in existing products, processes or services. It comprises the creation of components parts of complex systems, and may include the construction of prototypes in a laboratory environment or in an environment with simulated interfaces to existing systems as well as of pilot lines, when necessary for the industrial research and notably for generic technology validation;

  • Public research university means Rutgers, The State University

  • Research means a systematic investigation, including research development, testing, and evaluation, designed to develop or contribute to generalizable knowledge.

  • Initial Development Plan has the meaning set forth in Section 3.2(b).

  • Basic research means any original investigation for the advancement of scientific or technological knowledge that will enhance the research capacity of this state in a way that increases the ability to attract to or develop companies, jobs, researchers, or students in this state.

  • Clinical Development means the conduct of clinical trials in humans to assess the dosing, safety and/or efficacy of the Product, including but not limited to Phase I Clinical Trials, Phase II Clinical Trials, Phase Ill Clinical Trials and Phase IV Clinical Trials.

  • scientific research means any activity in the field of natural or applied science for the extension of knowledge;

  • Research Use shall have the meaning given in Section 2.2.2 of this Agreement.

  • Sponsored research means research, training, and other sponsored activities as defined by the federal Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget:

  • municipal spatial development framework means a municipal spatial development framework adopted by the Municipality in terms of Chapter 5 of the Municipal Systems Act;

  • Research Analyst means any individual employed by Loomis Sayles who has been designated as a Research Analyst or Research Associate by Loomis Sayles. A person is considered a Research Analyst only as to those Covered Securities which he or she is assigned to cover and about which he or she issues research reports to other Investment Persons or otherwise makes recommendations to Investment Persons beyond publishing their research. As to other securities, he or she is simply an Access Person.

  • Existing development means development, other than that associated with agricultural or forest management activities, that meets one of the following criteria:

  • Collaborative drug therapy management means participation by an authorized pharmacist and a physician in the management of drug therapy pursuant to a written community practice protocol or a written hospital practice protocol.

  • Commercial Development Plan means the written commercialization plan attached as Appendix E.

  • Development Consent means the consent granted to the Development Application for the Development and includes all modifications made under section 4.55 of the Act.

  • spatial development framework means the Mhlontlo Municipal Spatial Development Framework prepared and adopted in terms of sections 20 and 21 of the Act and Chapter 2 of this By-Law;

  • Commercial Development means any development on private land that is not heavy industrial or residential. The category includes, but is not limited to: hospitals, laboratories and other medical facilities, educational institutions, recreational facilities, plant nurseries, car wash facilities, mini-malls and other business complexes, shopping malls, hotels, office buildings, public warehouses and other light industrial complexes.

  • Radiopharmaceutical quality assurance means, but is not limited to, the performance of appropriate chemical, biological, and physical tests on potential radiopharmaceuticals and the interpretation of the resulting data to determine their suitability for use in humans and animals, including internal test assessment, authentication of product history, and the keeping of proper records.

  • Research and development means (1) theoretical analysis, exploration, or experimentation; or (2) the extension of investigative findings and theories of a scientific or technical nature into practical application for experimental and demonstration purposes, including the experimental production and testing of models, devices, equipment, materials, and processes. Research and development does not include the internal or external administration of radiation or radioactive material to human beings.

  • Joint Development Agreement has the meaning provided in Section 5.3.

  • Infill development means new construction on a vacant commercial lot currently held as open space.

  • Phase 4 Clinical Trial means a Clinical Trial of a Product conducted after Regulatory Approval of such Product has been obtained from an appropriate Regulatory Authority, which trial is (a) conducted voluntarily by a Party to enhance marketing or scientific knowledge of the Product, or (b) conducted due to a request or requirement of a Regulatory Authority.

  • Development regulations or "regulation" means the controls

  • Public resources means water, fish, and wildlife and in addition means capital improvements of the state or its political subdivisions.

  • Development Report means a written account of Licensee’s progress under the Development Plan having at least the information specified on Appendix B to this Agreement, and shall be sent to the address specified on Appendix B.

  • Clinical evaluation means a systematic and planned process to continuously generate, collect, analyse and assess the clinical data pertaining to a device in order to verify the safety and performance, including clinical benefits, of the device when used as intended by the manufacturer;
