There shall be four ranks for professional librarian employees at Carleton University: Librarian I, Librarian II, Librarian III and Librarian IV.
To qualify for appointment or promotion to the rank of Librarian II, the candidate shall have met the minimum educational requirement and shall have at least one year's professional experience or equivalent.
Every appointment of a librarian is made at one of the following ranks: Librarian IV Librarian III Librarian II Librarian I Throughout the Collective Agreement, the position of “Archivist” is included in the general title of “Librarian”.
