Local Union(s) shall refer to all of the Council’s affiliated Local Unions that perform On-Site Project Work and their members. “Contractor(s)” shall include the Contractor, all other contractors who sign a similar Project Labor Agreement in connection with the Project and their subcontractors of whatever tier, engaged in On-Site Project Work within the scope of this Agreement as defined in Article 3.

Local Union(s) means those local unions affiliated with the District Council of Iron Workers of the State of California and Vicinity and the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers. Section 1.04. The term “Employer” means (a) any employer employing persons performing field ironwork in the State of California and who is bound by the terms of this Agreement and Declaration of Trust in accordance with Article XV hereof; and (b) any other employer employing persons performing field ironwork in the State of California whom the Board in its sole discretion permits to participate herein pursuant to resolution of the Board of Trustees; provided, however, that as to those employers which are permitted to participate herein pursuant to subsection (b), the Board, in the resolution accepting said employees of said employers, may make such special rules as, in the Board’s sole discretion, may be fair and equitable.

Examples of Local Union(s) in a sentence

  • The subletting, assigning, or transfer by an individual Employer of any work in connection with electrical work to any person, firm or corporation not recognizing the IBEW or one of its Local Unions as the collective bargaining representative of his employees on any electrical work in the jurisdiction of this or any other Local Union to be performed at the site of the construction, alteration, painting or repair of a building, structure or other work, will be deemed a material breach of this Agreement.

  • The Local Unions administer and control their referral and it is agreed that these referrals will be made in a nondiscriminatory manner and in full compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations which require equal employment opportunities and nondiscrimination.
