Locomotive Driver definition

Locomotive Driver or “Driver” means an Employee who is employed in a classification covered by Part 7 of this Agreement.

Examples of Locomotive Driver in a sentence

  • A qualified driver supervising an Advanced Trainee Locomotive Driver using DP technology, but not at the throttle, will also be entitled to receive the DP Allowance.

  • Existing training programs e.g. existing Victorian Locomotive Driver Training Scheme will not alter except by agreement.

  • Terminal Driver Duties of Locomotive Driver but restricted to operate within the confines of a terminal or restricted mainline for shunt/ shed / marshalling operations.

  • Locomotive Driver – Level 8 Duties of an Advanced Trainee Locomotive Driver plus: • Operate locomotives / trains and railcars, • Undertake locomotive / train preparation, • Provide on the job instruction, • Operate locomotives in any required configuration including, but not limited to, single or multiple locomotives as well as operating locomotives using Distributed Power Technology.

  • All Locomotive-grade employees will be trained in accordance with the provisions of the existing, Victorian Locomotive Driver training scheme.

  • Ongoing Continuation training for qualified Locomotive Drivers will be conducted using the Continuation training provisions contained in the Victorian Locomotive Driver training scheme.

  • Conversion training where required will be conducted using the Conversion training provisions contained in the Victorian Locomotive Driver training scheme.

  • The Advanced Trainee Locomotive Driver is not entitled to receive the DP Allowance.

  • However should circumstances change the following conditions will apply for remote control shunting: Remote Control Shunting is a form of technology that allows the operation of a locomotive from a location remote from the locomotive without a Locomotive Driver in the locomotive cab.

  • Locomotive Driver Class 1 A locomotive driver trained and qualified in locomotive operations to DOO mainline standard and who leads a team and is responsible for safety standards.
