Marine Emergency definition

Marine Emergency means any incident, occurrence or situation, however caused, resulting in substantial pollution or imminent threat of substantial pollution to the marine and coastal environment by oil or other harmful substances and includes, in particular, collisions, strandings and other incidents involving ships, including tankers, petroleum production blow-outs and the presence of oil or other harmful substances arising from the failure of industrial installations.
Marine Emergency means any casualty, incident, occurrence or situation, however caused, resulting in substantial pollution or the imminent threat of substantial pollution to the marine environment by oil or other harmful substances including collisions, groundings and other incidents involving ships, including tankers, and including the presence of oil or other harmful substances in the marine environment arising from the failure of industrial installations or oil handling facilities.
Marine Emergency. Response" means any activity intended to prevent, mitigate or eliminate pollution by oil or other harmful substances or threat of such pollution resulting from marine emergencies;

Examples of Marine Emergency in a sentence

  • No employee shall function as a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team, the Decon Team, the Technical Rescue Team, or the Marine Emergency Response Team (including Fire Boat personnel), without successfully obtaining or possessing a certification for performance as established by the Seattle Fire Department.

  • The parties agree that the initial Marine Emergency Duty Courses, I, are covered by the provisions of this clause.

  • Bargaining Unit crewmembers as condition of employment must have and maintain, at all times, both an up to date and valid Marine Emergency and Certificate.

  • Neither party shall be liable for the costs of the other unless as otherwise agreed for the transport of the Dublin Fire Brigade Marine Emergency Response Teams.

  • MAP Regional Activity Centres and MAP programmes with particular expertise will provide technical assistance to the Project, including: • Co-ordinating Unit for MAP (MEDU); • Priority Actions Programme Regional Activity Centre (PAP/RAC); • Blue Plan Regional Activity Centre (BP/RAC); • Specially Protected Areas Regional Activity Centre (SPA/RAC); • Regional Marine Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC); and • Environment Remote Sensing Regional Activity Centre (ERS/RAC).

  • The Blue Plan Regional Activity Centre (BP/RAC), the Regional Activity Centre for Specially Protected Areas (SPA/RAC), the Regional Marine Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) and the Regional Activity Centre for the Environment Remote Sensing (ERS/RAC), will be involved implementing individual Project activities within their mandates.

  • Requests for additional support to the Dublin Fire Brigade Marine Emergency Response Teams should be made direct to the IRCG Rescue Centre.
