The amount of the Executive's pension and his eligibility for such pension will be determined pursuant to the provisions of the Company's Mid-Career Hire Pension Plan (the "Mid-Career Pension Plan"), except that the Executive will be required to complete three, rather than five, years of active employment with the Company in order to become eligible for a pension benefit under the Mid-Career Pension Plan.
Notwithstanding that the Executive is not vested in his benefits under the Mid-Career Hire Supplemental Plan until 1 August 1999, the Company will, for vesting purposes to that Plan only, treat the Executive as employed until the vesting date.
In addition, under the provisions of the Mid-Career Hire Program you will be eligible for the following benefits: Mid-Career Pension: Managers hired at age thirty-five and over at salary band D and above who retire or terminate employment at Executive level or above will be eligible for supplemental pension benefits from the AT&T Mid-Career Hire Pension Plan provided they have at least five years service credited while at or above Executive level.
