National REC definition

National REC means a National Research Ethics Committee for Clinical Investigations of Medical Devices
National REC means a National Research Ethics Committee established under Head 15.

  • AI/AN National REC services are available to Indian Health Service (IHS) direct operated programs, Tribal Health Programs, and Urban Indian health programs (collectively referred to as I/T/U) facilities that are adopting Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) EHR systems or using the IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) EHR.

  • The AI/AN National REC will assist practices that have existing EHRs as well as those without EHRs. However, the individual Tribal Health Programs must commit to using the RPMS EHR or purchase a COTS EHR system.

  • SCOPE OF NIHB AI/AN NATIONAL REC SERVICES: The NIHB AI/AN National REC will provide the following services to providers in IHS/Tribal/Urban Indian (I/T/U) facilities throughout the Indian Health System subject to availability of federal funds.

  • ARRA funds a portion of the technical assistance that the AI/AN National REC is providing providers in the Indian Health System.

  • AI/AN National REC, its sub-recipient contractors and partners will not be responsible for any failure to complete or perform any REC Services due to any failure to meet any of the foregoing expectations of the Tribal Health Program and Practice or any circumstance beyond the REC’s reasonable control.

  • Given the unique needs of Indian Health Service providers and the vast array of primary care providers who will be seeking technical assistance from their respective State Regional Extension Centers (State REC), the NIHB AI/AN National REC was established to meet the specific technical assistance needs of Indian Health Service (IHS) direct operated programs, Tribal Health Programs, and Urban Indian health programs (collectively referred to as I/T/U).

  • In the event that the Tribal Health Program fails to comply with the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the NIHB AI/AN National REC may in its reasonable discretion terminate the Agreement upon reasonable notice.
