Net earned premiums definition

Net earned premiums of an insurer means the portion of the written premium equal to the expired portion of the time for which insurance or reinsurance was in effect.
Net earned premiums means the portion of Net Written Premiums during or prior to a given period which is actually earned during such period, as determined in accordance with GAAP;

Net earned premiums means the portion of Net Written Premiums during or prior to a given period which is actually earned during such period. NET WRITTEN PREMIUMS means the total of all premiums received or to be received for insurance underwritten and reinsurance assumed during a given period less the total premium paid or to be paid for reinsurance ceded to others during such period.
