Nonrenewable license definition
Nonrenewable license means an Ohio driver's license, commercial driver's license, motorcycle operator's license, temporary instruction permit identification card (TIPIC) or any duplicate thereof issued to an applicant who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. A nonrenewable license shall not extend beyond the duration of an applicant's temporary residence in this state, and shall expire automatically on the same date listed on the applicant's legal presence documentation, or on the same date in the fourth year after the date the nonrenewable license is issued, whichever comes first. A nonrenewable license is nontransferable, meaning that the holder may not rely on it to obtain a driver's license in another state.
