If the person is unlicensed and the complaint alleges criminal conduct, the department will refer the complaint to the office of the Attorney General or the Office of the District Attorney having jurisdiction over the case.
After a report is reviewed administratively, if it is determined that the officer engaged in criminal conduct, the CLEO will forward the report to the Office of the District Attorney or the Office of the Attorney General and the Director of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.
