Open Choice Journals definition

Open Choice Journals means Licensor’s open choice journals available for publication under these Product Terms. A current list is attached in Schedule 1. Such new, start-up journals initiated by Licensor and first published during Term (“New Starts”) which Licensor, at its choice, qualifies as Open Choice Journals will automatically be available to Eligible Authors. The list of Open Choice Journals will be updated on an annual basis (including New Starts) at the latest 30 days prior to the end of the calendar year. If the total number of Open Choice Journal titles is reduced by 5% or more compared to the title list of the respective previous year of the Term, Licensee shall be entitled to terminate this License Agreement by written notice, to be received by Licensor until the 15th of December the latest, the termination being effective at the beginning of the subsequent year of the Term. Additionally if the number of Open Choice Journal titles in a main discipline with more than fifty (50) titles (according to Schedule 1 ) is reduced by more than 30% compared to the title list of the previous year, only such Licensee(s) whose publishing activity in such main discipline represents more than 30% of its overall Eligible Articles within the respective year, shall be entitled to terminate this License Agreement by written notice, to be received by Licensor until the 15th of December the latest, the termination being effective at the beginning of the subsequent year of the Term.
Open Choice Journals means the Adis, Apress, Birkhäuser, co-published with Springer, Humana Press, ▇.▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Spektrum, Springer Vieweg, Springer Medizin, Hebrew University ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Press, Serdi-Edition, Palgrave Macmillan, Springer, Springer ▇▇▇▇▇▇, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Nature, Springer Vienna and Springer VS, journals, as well as hybrid Academic Journals on ▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇, identified as Open Choice Journals in Schedule 3.The list of Open Choice Journals is subject to revision and change by Licensor, including but not limited to when new journals are founded or acquired and added to the Open Choice Journals, or when journals are transferred or the publishing of journals ceases. Addition of new imprints requires mutual agreement of Licensor and Customer.

If, during the Term, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ decides to change the business model of an Open Choice Journal to solely offering open access publication, such journal will nevertheless remain an Open Choice Journal for the purposes of this License Agreement.

Examples of Open Choice Journals in a sentence

  • The following sets forth the legal and economic framework to allow: (a) Eligible Authors from Licensees to publish open access articles in the Open Choice Journals, and (b) access to the Content.
