Open Days definition

Open Days. The University has implemented a strong community engagement focus in annual Open Days to bring community members of all ages on site to share in opportunities for learning.  City Spaces: The University is actively investing in new and improved facilities that encourage increased community access.  Public Lecture series: Our Public Lecture Program forms part of the University's efforts to contribute knowledge, thought-leadership and innovative ideas to the region.  Massive Online Open Courses: Open Courses including MOOCs bring a taste of high quality tertiary education to the world at little or no cost to the consumer. The University offers a range of award winning online open courses and has engaged with around 200,000 students in partnership with online providers since these courses were introduced in 2017.  I2N Integrated Innovation Network and related grand challenges (see Research above)  strategies to increase aspirations and advice to school students on study options. Outreach 

Examples of Open Days in a sentence

  • The perceptions of potential applicants are canvassed through a broad programme of Outreach activities in the community and through events hosted by the University such as Open Days, Applicants Days, and Taster Days for different disciplines.

  • Support for Parents/Carers To complement the student experiences we have devised the following support specifically for parents/carers: • Parents’ evenings • Information, Advice and Guidance sessions • Campus visits for parents • Open Days • UCAS parent workshops • Parent/Carer student finance events This collaboration encourages dialogue around progression routes between parents/carers and their children and gives them confidence to support their child through the minefield of choices and decisions.

  • These arrangements are also included within our Financial Advice and Support talk at Open Days.

  • All prospective applicants to the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ University College will be provided with information via the prospectus, the website and material available at Open Days, Family Evenings and College or school based AimHigher events.

  • It is acknowledged by the SCO that there will be sessions and events where Activity Attendance Records are not possible, such as Open Days etc.

  • This will include a summer school at Salisbury and two HE Open Days at each campus per year.

  • Post-application Finance talks and information distributed at Departmental Open Days for applicants.

  • We know from the level of interest in previous Open Days for mature learners that there is a great appetite for enrolment to part-time courses which enable learners to balance work, family and study commitments.

  • One-to-one support is also available at Open Days, which is most important for mature students.

  • We also provide funding talks during RHUL Open Days and UCAS Days, and in schools and colleges, helping prospective students and their advisers to understand the financial implications of entering higher education and the financial help available.

  • Day/Days means calendar days, inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
