Other recovery is the recovery of waste by means other than recycling and composting often includes ‘energy from waste’ involving incineration.
Other recovery means any operation the principal result of which is that the waste serves a useful purpose by replacing other materials which would otherwise have been used to fulfil a particular function, or waste being prepared to fulfil that function.
