Oustee definition

Oustee. An ‘oustee’ shall mean any person who since at least one year prior to the date of publication of the notification under Section 4 of the Act, has been ordinarily residing or cultivating land or carrying on any trade, occupation, or calling or working for gain in the area likely to be submerged permanently or temporarily.
Oustee means any person, whether landed or landless, who would be displaced from his usual habitat or whose livelihood would be substantially affected due to the acquisition of land for the purposes of the carrying out of the Project;
Oustee means a person whose land in the Union Territory of Chandigarh has been acquired for a public purpose and includes his/her legal heirs.

Oustee means, a land owner who has been deprived of his house or land, or both on account of the acquisition proceedings/ private negotiations in connection with the construction of the project and entitled to compensation in lieu thereof, and includes his successors in interest.
