Police Powers definition

Police Powers. The LFA shall not enact any local laws that are inconsistent with this Franchise, provided, however, that nothing in this Franchise shall be construed to prohibit the reasonable, necessary and lawful exercise of the police powers of the LFA in a manner not materially in conflict with the privileges granted in this Franchise and consistent with all federal and state laws, regulations and orders.
Police Powers means powers which are conferred on members of a police force by law; Including, inter alia, powers of stop and search, arrest, detention, entry, search and seizure, investigation, questioning and charging;
Police Powers. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to prohibit the LFA’s reasonable, necessary and lawful exercise of its police power including, without limitation, in addition to the implementation and enforcement of the provisions of this Agreement and existing applicable laws and regulations, the enactment, adoption, implementation and enforcement of such additional laws and regulations as the LFA may deem necessary in the exercise of its police power; provided, however, that such laws and regulations are reasonable, not materially in conflict with the privileges granted in this Franchise and consistent with all applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and orders.

  • The City and Port Police Departments are authorized to engage as outlined in the Mutual Aid Police Powers Act, Chapter 10.93 RCW to provide emergency assistance to each other as needed.

  • PROVIDER shall purchase and maintain, during the Term, workers’ compensation insurance and general liability insurance at such levels as may be reasonably required to insure against foreseeable incidents and claims which may arise as a result of the Services performed hereunder.

  • Whenever Police Powers are exercised by a Police Officer in the jurisdiction of a Receiving Party pursuant to this Agreement, the Officer-in-Charge of the Receiving Party shall be notified as soon as practically possible by the Police Officer exercising the Police Powers so that a determination can be made for any arrestee to be transported to the Dukes County Jail or any other law enforcement actions may be taken.

Related to Police Powers

  • Road authority means each governmental agency with jurisdiction over public streets and highways. Road authority includes the department, any other state agency, and intergovernmental, county, city, and village governmental agencies responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of streets and highways. When a street railway operates or seeks to operate a street railway system over public streets and highways over which more than 1 road authority possesses jurisdiction, road authority includes each road authority with jurisdiction over public streets and highways upon which the street railway operates or seeks to operate a street railway system.

  • Reactive Power means the wattless component of the product of voltage and current, which the Facility shall provide to or absorb from the Grid System within the Technical Limits and which is measured in MVAR;
