Pre-Admission Testing definition

Pre-Admission Testing means X-ray and laboratory exams made in contemplation of and within four (4) days of a scheduled surgery, which is performed within the forty-eight (48) hours following the Participant’s admission to the Hospital. If for medical reasons, the scheduled Hospitalization is canceled or postponed for more than two (2) weeks; benefits will be payable for any similar diagnostic, X-ray and laboratory examinations again made in connection with and prior to the rescheduled Hospitalization. Benefits will not be paid for any duplication of the same tests after Hospital confinement.

More Definitions of Pre-Admission Testing

Pre-Admission Testing means necessary diagnostic x-rays or laboratory tests as an outpatient under a pre- admission testing program administered by a hospital. Under such a program, the tests must be: (a) ordered by the physician who directs confinement; (b) made within seven days immediately before treatment and at the same hospital where treatment will be rendered and (c) accepted by the hospital in place of the same tests that would normally be made after confinement. Benefits are payable for pre-admission tests only if benefits would have been payable for the same tests had they have been performed while confined as an in-patient.

Pre-Admission Testing. The employee's doctor will be asked to consider having a portion of any testing done on an out-patient basis.
