Precision definition

Precision means the degree to which repeated measurements under unchanged conditions show the same results (Figure 1).
Precision means the degree to which repeated measurements under unchanged conditions show the same results (Figure 1) and, in this UN GTR, always refers to one standard deviation.
Precision means the difference between a continuous monitoring system response and the known concentration of a calibration gas or neutral density filter.

  • Precision is a measure of the variability in the results of replicate measurements due to random error.

More Definitions of Precision

Precision means the degree to which a set of observations or measurements of the same property, obtained under similar conditions, conform to themselves. Precision is an indicator of data quality. Precision is expressed usually as standard deviation, variance or range, in either absolute or relative terms.
Precision means the degree to which repeated measurements under unchanged conditions show the same results (Figure 1). In this gtr, precision requirements always refer to one standard deviation.
Precision means 2.5 times the standard deviation of 10 repetitive responses to a given traceable standard value.
Precision means the closeness of repeated measurements of the same parameter within a sample.
Precision has the meaning set forth in the Preamble.
Precision means the closeness of agreement between independent test results obtained under specified conditions. This is described by statistical methods such as a standard deviation or confidence limit of test results. See also "random error." Precision can be further classified as repeatability, intermediate precision, and reproducibil- ity.
Precision means the standard deviation of replicated measurements.
