Preference in vacation. (1) A preference in selection of vacation time shall be determined in each work group on the basis of service seniority within that work group. (2) An employee shall be entitled to receive his vacation in an unbroken period. Employees wishing to split their vacation may exercise seniority rights in their first choice within each vacation block. Seniority shall prevail in the choice of the subsequent vacation period, but only after all other first vacation periods have been selected.

Examples of Preference in vacation in a sentence

  • Preference in vacation scheduling, extra days off, shift selection, or other choices given by a department to the members of the bargaining unit shall be by seniority unless there is a valid business necessity for doing otherwise.
