Preschool-aged child definition

Preschool-aged child means any child age three to five, inclusive, who is placed in out-of-home care by the Commissioner of Children and Families pursuant to an order of commitment under section 46b-129 of the general statutes and who is not enrolled in a preschool program or kindergarten at the time of such placement; and
Preschool-aged child means any child who has not reached the age of five years on or before October 16 of the current school year and who is not eligible to attend a public or private grade school or kindergarten based on the State's age requirement.

  • Preschool age child means a child age three through five not yet attending kindergarten. If a child is older than age five and not attending kindergarten or a higher grade, OCCL considers that child in the preschool-age group.
