Pressure vacuum breaker assembly definition

Pressure vacuum breaker assembly means a type of cross connection control assembly which consists of an indepen- dently operating internally loaded check valve and an indepen- dently operating loaded air inlet located on the discharge side of the check valve, a tightly closing shut−off valve located at each end of the assembly, and test cocks. The term “pressure vacuum breaker” has the same meaning as pressure vacuum breaker assembly.
Pressure vacuum breaker assembly means a backsiphonage prevention assembly that contains an independently operated, internally loaded check valve; an internally operated air-inlet valve located on the discharge side of the check valve; tightly closing resilient seated shut-off valves on each end of the check valve assembly; and properly located resilient seated test cocks.
Pressure vacuum breaker assembly means an assembly designed to prevent backsiphonage backflow and used for high or low hazard situations, composed of an independently operating, spring-loaded check valve: an independently operating , spring-loaded air-inlet valve; and tightly closing shut-off valves located at each end of the assembly; and fitted with properly located test cocks.

More Definitions of Pressure vacuum breaker assembly

Pressure vacuum breaker assembly. (PVBA) means an approved assembly consisting of a spring loaded check valve loaded to the closed position and installed as a unit with, and between, two resilient seated shut off valves and having suitable connections for testing. It is designed to protect against back siphonage only.
Pressure vacuum breaker assembly means an assembly containing an independently operating loaded check valve and an independently operating loaded air inlet valve located on the discharge side of the check valve. The assembly will be equipped with properly located test cocks and tightly closing shutoff valves located at each end of the assembly.
Pressure vacuum breaker assembly means a type of cross connection control assembly which consists of an independently operating internally loaded acting check valve force-loaded to the closed position and an independently acting operating loaded air inlet valve located on the discharge side downstream of the check valve, a tightly closing shut-off valve located at each end of the assembly, and test cocks that is force- loaded to the open position. The term “pressure vacuum breaker" has the same meaning as pressure vacuum breaker assembly. The assembly also includes two tightly closing shutoffs, one at the inlet of the assembly and one at the outlet of the assembly, and two tightly closing test cocks; one immediately upstream and one immediately downstream of the check valve.
