Primary wage earner (PWE) definition
Primary wage earner (PWE) means, in a household where both of a child's natural and/or adoptive parents are residing with the child, the parent who earned the most total gross income in the 24 month period immediately preceding the month of eligibility. If both parents earned the same amount, the PWE is whichever parent is designated by the eligibility worker.
