Promotions. When an employee is promoted to a classification in a higher grade, he will move to the next higher rate within his new grade with a minimum increase of $15.00 per week, effective at the time of his promotion. However, this rate cannot exceed the maximum rate of the job on the wage schedule.
Promotions. For purposes of making permanent promotions from the laborers list to operator classifications, those names appearing on the stand-by list shall be considered in order of seniority and qualifications. The supervisors shall judge the person's ability to operate all ofthe City equipment and shall be required to document his judgment. Employees promoted to operator classification who for health or other reasons wish to return to their former classification may do so at any given time within ninety (90) days after being promoted to the operator classification if the employee gives the Employer at least two (2) weeks-notice ofhis/her desire to return to his/her former classification and the employee's return to his/her former classification will not result in the Employer having to hire any additional personnel with the Street Division of the Public Works Department in order to satisfy the employee's desire to return to his/her former classification.
Promotions means an employee moving from the Deputy classification to the Detective Sergeant or Sergeant classification: or from the Sergeant to the Detective Sergeant classification. This Article shall apply only to these promotions.

Promotions. The term "promotion" as applied to Professional/Technical employees is defined as the advancement of an employee to a higher rated job classification in the bargaining unit. Promotional increases shall be ten percent (10%) or the minimum of the pay grade whichever is greater. The language in this section shall be placed in effect following ratification of this Agreement. Any promotion, transfer or reclassification is only applicable following the implementation placement.
Promotions are movements to a different classification with a higher pay range. When three (3) or more qualified bargaining unit members (as defined by Paragraph B of this Article) apply for a promotion, one of the bargaining unit members shall be selected for the promotion. If a unit member is not selected in these circumstances, the District shall provide written reasons therefor to the impacted unit members within ten (10) working days of its decision.
