Recess period definition

Recess period is defined as days in the school year calendar which are not “holidays” but are not scheduled as work days. For example, if the weekdays between Christmas and the weekday after New Year’s Day are not scheduled as work days, those weekdays constitute a “recess period”. In addition, aides may be permitted to use personal days on in-service days with the permission of the Superintendent.
