Rehire List, or “Layoff List”): A list of employees who have been laid off from a specific classification and who are eligible for recall.

Rehire List, a Rehire List of laid off employees will be maintained by the employer. When a position that any laid off employee has previously worked in is open, said employee(s) will first be notified in order of seniority, if the employee meets the minimum qualification listed in the job description for the position and any specific position requirements such as credentials, certifications or license. Upon layoff, the employee shall be placed on a rehire list and shall be eligible for rehire for a period of up to twelve (12) months from the date of layoff. Employees will indicate clinic preference at the time of layoff for the rehire list. The employer will contact the qualified employee(s) (most senior first) via email and phone of the opening. The employees will be responsible for keeping the Employer’s Human Resources Department informed of their current email address and phone number. If an employee on the rehire list opts not to accept an offer to return to work in a position previously held or fails to respond within three (3) calendar days of the offer of rehire, they shall be considered to have relinquished all rehire rights and will be removed from the rehire list. If an employee was placed into two (2) vacant positions for which the employee has failed to complete the rehire trial period will be removed from the rehire list.

Rehire List,. A list of employees in layoff status, organized by seniority, showing their layoff effective dates, seniority dates, and longevity dates. Employees on the rehire list shall have the right of first refusal for any job vacancy, in any job classification, for which they are medically qualified and meet the contractual hiring requirements. New hires or transfers may not displace any employee on the rehire list unless such an employee declines to be recalled. Employees shall be removed from the rehire list when they accept recall, refuse a recall offer for which they are qualified (except as permitted in this Agreement), or when their layoff status expires, whichever happens first.

Examples of Rehire List, in a sentence

  • The names of persons laid off shall be placed on an Agency/Departmental Rehire List for each class in the occupational series at or below the level of the class from which laid off.

Related to Rehire List,

  • Active list means a list of active electors maintained pursuant to 13-2-220.
