Relief Drivers definition

Relief Drivers. Assigned on an as-needed basis. This classification will not have a regular schedule and no minimum amount of hours will be guaranteed except that during peak season, straight time hours will be scheduled and endeavored to be equalized for relief drivers prior to scheduling temporary drivers.

Examples of Relief Drivers in a sentence

  • There are no rights to refusal on assignments by the Relief Driver(s).

  • Permanent Relief Drivers may have eight (8) consecutive hour shifts that start as late as 2:00 p.m. Starting times will not change within the same work week.

  • Since the daily hours over the four (4) guaranteed are an unknown entity due to daily assignments by Dispatch, Relief Drivers can sign up on the “Trip Board” and/or the “Mid-Day Board” only as a communication to Dispatch that they are available that day, however, being that the Relief position will be placed only up to eight (8) hours per day and all effort will be made not to be placed on any given day into overtime, the signage does not guarantee assignments by Dispatch.

  • Permanent Relief Drivers may have nine (9) consecutive hour shifts that start as late as 2:00 p.m. Starting times will not change within the same work week.

  • These drivers will bid by seniority relative to all the Regular Full Time Relief Drivers.

  • Regular Full Time Relief Drivers desiring to vacate their position may do so provided they go to the bottom of the seniority list for 32 hour benefited drivers and said employee is now filling a 32 hour benefited driver position.

  • Only qualified employees with the appropriate license may be dispatched as Relief Drivers.

  • The Fire Chief shall verify the professional years of service and successful completion of the Relief Drivers Test.

  • Regular Full Time Relief Drivers can elect, in writing, to revert back to a part-time driver status.

  • Regular Full Time Relief Drivers can wait for their part-time seniority date to allow them to fill 32 hour benefited driver positions.

  • Preschool age child means a child age three through five not yet attending kindergarten. If a child is older than age five and not attending kindergarten or a higher grade, OCCL considers that child in the preschool-age group.
