Initial Inquiry: When a complaint about Principal Investigator performance is lodged by the funding agency, financial services or members of a Grant, the Research Integrity Officer will assess whether the allegation has substance and determine if an investigation is warranted.
The Parties undertake to act in full respect of human and fundamental rights of research integrity, as defined in particular in the Manifesto for Research Integrity in paragraph 12: “We repudiate all forms of discrimination leading to the exclusion of any minority from the benefits obtainable through any research activity and undertake to maintain an open working environment for researchers and students from all over the world”.
When a faculty member resigns from his/her position at the University and where the nature of the investigation/project is best served by the unique research strengths of the faculty member, a negotiation between the Principal Investigator, the Funding Agency, and the Research Integrity Officer (the Vice Xxxxxxx), will occur and a mutually satisfactory resolution will be reached.
The Data Management plan has been prepared in accordance with the ESRC’s Research Data Policy, the Universities UK Concordat to Support Research Integrity, the Open Science guidelines set out by the Centre for Open Science, and the existing data management and research ethics frameworks of all Institutions.
When a Principal Investigator becomes incapacitated during administration of a Grant/Contract, the Funding Agency and the Research Integrity Officer (the Vice Xxxxxxx), will consult and a satisfactory resolution will be reached.
In the event that the PI is able to communicate, the Research Integrity Officer will consult with the PI prior to contact with the funding agency.
