Saturated thickness definition

Saturated thickness means the thickness of an aquifer below the water table.
Saturated thickness means the vertical distance between the Water table and the base of the Groundwater Reservoir, where the pores between the solid particles are completely filled with Water.
Saturated thickness means the thickness of an aquifer measured from the water table to an essentially impermeable boundary; such boundary is typically taken to be the top of the bedrock surface.

Examples of Saturated thickness in a sentence

  • Saturated thicknessSaturated thickness shall mean the vertical height of a hydrogeologically defined aquifer unit in which the pore spaces are 100% saturated with water.

  • E., 2001, Saturated thickness in the Ogallala Aquifer in the Panhandle Water Planning Area—simulation of 2000 through 2050 withdrawal projections: Final Contract Report prepared for the Panhandle Water Planning Group, Panhandle Regional Planning Commission (contract number UTA01- 462) by the Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin, 130 p.

  • Saturated thickness of the aquifer approaches 300 feet in its northern extent, and is generally less in the Region B area.

  • Saturated thickness in the vicinity of the PRBs ranges from 2 to 4 ft; thus, transmissivity values for the aquifer probablyrange from 10 to 200 ft2/d.

  • Saturated thickness is greatest at the southern portion of the site and thins significantly to the north.

  • Some key assumptions are: • Seepage velocity: taken from General Information Sheet • Saturated thickness: from Thickness of Plume on General Information Sheet (note for the Vadose Zone source, the source thickness (Zv) is the thickness of source materials above the water table, and therefore Zv is not used in the Plume Module).

  • Key design parameters selected for the template site were as follows: • Plume width = 3000 feet• Plume depth = 100 feet• Saturated thickness = 60 feet• Hydraulic conductivity (K) = 30 feet/day• Hydraulic gradient = 0.008 ft/ft Using these parameters, the estimated aquifer discharge (groundwater flux) through the treatment transect is 224 gpm.

More Definitions of Saturated thickness

Saturated thickness means the vertical distance between the water table and the base of the groundwater reservoir.
Saturated thickness means the vertical height of a hydrogeologically defined Aquifer unit in which the pore spaces are one hundred (100) percent saturated with water. For unconfined, unconsolidated Aquifers, the saturated thickness is equal to the difference in elevation between the bedrock surface and the water table.
Saturated thickness means thickness, in feet, of the saturated portion of the aquifer.
