Senior Lecturers definition

Senior Lecturers means staff in science or art as defined in paragraph (2) whose main job is teaching.

Examples of Senior Lecturers in a sentence

  • In terms of Schedule Two, they shall be treated as Lecturers and Senior Lecturers respectively although the employer may promote Senior Research Fellows to the pay grade of Associate Professor.

  • Lecturers and Senior Lecturers will be expected to contribute to the understanding and practice of teaching undergraduates and, in some cases, to disseminate their contributions by conference presentations, etc.

  • Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, and Principal Lecturers are under no research or creative scholarship expectations, and are not eligible for tenure.

  • Senior Lecturers may be evaluated by Senior or Principal Lecturers, and Associate Professors or Professors.

  • Whether tenure-track or not, Professors are permitted to vote on any such case; Associate Professors are permitted to vote on promotion to Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer; and Assistant Professors and Senior Lecturers are permitted to vote on promotion to Senior Lecturers.

  • Senior Lecturers/Clinical Senior Lecturers who have completed six years of full-time- equivalent service in that title are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer II/Clinical Senior Lecturer II.

  • Senior Lecturers who demonstrate research/scholarship/creative activity commensurate with the expectations defined in their department’s governance document shall be assigned workload credit equal to the amount established in the department’s governance document.

  • Senior Lecturers shall be reappointed to terms of three (3), four (4), or five (5) years assuming satisfactory evaluation and continued need.

  • Senior Lecturers who perform service beyond the minimal expectations of department governance (described in Article 9.4) shall be assigned workload credit equal to the amount established in the department’s governance document.

  • Decisions regarding promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer, and reappointments of Senior Lecturers, will be based upon an assessment of the performance of the applicant over the previous qualifying five (5) years (for initial promotion) or over the previous Senior Lecturer appointment (for reappointment as a Senior Lecturer).
