Senior Technician definition

Senior Technician. Has a minimum of two years experience as a technician and is qualified to perform the following tasks: the planning and installation, including testing, terminating, and troubleshooting, of structured cabling systems (SCS). Possesses the skills for fiber-optic installation, including splicing, testing, terminating, and troubleshooting. Must be skilled in the maintenance, service, testing, and repair of PBX systems and computer networking systems. Should have experience installing other special systems; such as security/access control, sound reinforcement, media retrieval, wireless/RF, and/or clock systems, etc. Duties may include the supervision of apprentice technicians, installer/technicians, technicians, and/or other senior technicians.
Senior Technician means a person with the technical school certificate Level 3 of NCTVA certified for level 3 in construction or the equivalent in a relevant field;
Senior Technician means a person not holding appropriate membership of a recognised professional body, but with ten (10) or more years relevant work experience;

Senior Technician is an employee who has attained a recognized level of technological competence and who holds at least one certification for a Company product on which he is required to work. Such an employee shall have accumulated no less than 1840 working hours as a “CERTIFIED GRADE 3 TECHNICIAN”. In addition, he shall have taken and passed the certification examinations and he shall have filled a vacant position. Any employee losing his license in accordance with the standards and procedures established to this effect shall be downgraded to “Technician Grade 3” in the appropriate classification.
