Sessional Faculty Member definition

Sessional Faculty Member means a person employed by UFV as an instructor, lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor, or professor on a per course semesterly contract.

Sessional Faculty Member means a Faculty Member appointed by the Board of Governors to teach credit course(s), full-time or part-time, or to perform related duties such as course coordination or laboratory supervision, for a period of less than twelve (12) months, including sessional faculty members in the Centre for Teaching Learning and Technology (CTLT).

Examples of Sessional Faculty Member in a sentence

  • A Sessional Faculty Member who has taught four (4) consecutive (not concurrent) course deliveries of the same or substantially similar course shall have Right of First Refusal, to the identical or substantially similar course, if such course continues as a curriculum offering and is made available for non-regular appointment, to a maximum of three (3) sections of any three (3) credit course workload.

  • If a Sessional Faculty Member fails to maintain satisfactory performance reviews his/her Right of First Refusal shall be revoked.

  • The Head shall ensure that each Sessional Faculty Member with a Sessional Appointment in the Department is informed of the agreed procedures.

  • Decisions not to reappoint a Sessional Faculty Member cannot be based exclusively on student evaluations.

  • If a Sessional Faculty Member fails to maintain satisfactory performance reviews his/her right of first refusal shall be revoked.

  • A Sessional Faculty Member shall have a follow-up review after one (1) complete semester, and the opportunity to explain how they have responded to the previous review.
