Smoke number definition

Smoke number means the dimensionless term quantifying smoke emissions.
Smoke number means the level of blackness of a filter paper caused by waste gases and is expressed on a 10 level scale (from 0 to 9) (Bacharach scale), with different intensity thus determining the level of the scale being closest to the blackness.
