Social License definition

Social License means the acceptance by the community of an investor occupying neighboring land as legitimate. Social license typically includes sharing of benefits from the investment in land between the investor and the community. Target has the meaning provided in Section C.3 of Annex I. Taxes has the meaning provided in Section 2.4(a). TBD has the meaning provided in the table in Schedule A to Annex I. Threshold Program has the meaning provided in the recitals to this Agreement.

  • Finally, to promote the establishment of Social License, in some cases a MCC Service Provider may assist the community to formalize rights in customary land, especially if the investor has plans for use of community land as part of future expansion of the tourism operation.
