Standing referral definition

Standing referral means a referral by the covered person's primary care provider to a specialist or specialized treatment center participating in the carrier's network for ongoing treatment of a covered person.

  • The Covered Services will be rendered by the Referred Specialist named on the Standing Referral form.

  • The Member, the Primary Care Physician and the Referred Specialist will be notified in writing of the length of time that the Standing Referral is valid.
