Straight Day definition

Straight Day employee is one who is regularly scheduled to start work after 6:00 a. m. and end work before 6:00 p.m. exclusive of overtime. A “Straight Day” employee normally works Monday through Friday, but this may vary. Such shift variations made effective subsequent to the effective date of the Agreement are subject to the provisions of Section 5 below.

Examples of Straight Day in a sentence

  • An employee who is required to work overtime and who works ten (10) or more continuous and successive hours (excluding the lunch period of a Straight Day Shift worker) shall be paid a meal allowance of five dollars ($5.00) which shall be included in the regular paycheck.

  • Straight Day Schedule: Employees scheduled to work Monday through Friday.

  • A Straight Day Shift is defined as a shift which does not rotate and which starts no earlier than 0600 a.m. and which ends no later than 6:00 p.m.

  • If such employees are not permitted a lunch period during the Straight Day shift, they shall be paid at time and one-half (1-1/2) base hourly rate plus time and one-half (1-1/2) applicable shift differential for the time worked in excess of eight (8) hours.

  • If such employees are not permitted a lunch period during the Straight Day shift, they shall be paid at time and one‐half (1‐1/2) base hourly rate plus time and one‐half (1‐1/2) applicable shift differential for the time worked in excess of eight (8) hours.

  • Work can be scheduled to be performed on one single shift or two shifts or three shifts and in any combination of the shifts outlined as follows: Straight Day Shift Time Commence @ 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon 4 hrs.

  • A The eight hour shift schedule, for other than Straight Day Maintenance and Electrical employees, shall be (5) five shifts of (8) eight hours worked from Monday to Friday.

  • Four Ten Straight Day Schedule 6:00 am to 4:30 pm 30 minute lunch 6:30 am to 5:00 pm 30 minute lunch 7:00 am to 5:30 pm 30 minute lunch 7:30 am to 6:00 pm 30 minute lunch 8:00 am to 6:30 pm 30 minute lunch G.

Related to Straight Day

  • Straight-time rate means the hourly rate of remuneration.

  • A week means seven days without regard to the number of hours worked in any day in that week.

  • Show Day means not more than one local show day observed on an employee's ordinary working day, other than a Saturday or a Sunday, in the city, town or district in which the employee is employed; or such other day which, in the absence of such a local show day, is agreed on by the employee and the employer, therefore making a total of 11 paid public holidays per year.

  • commencement day means the day on which the State Administrative Tribunal (Conferral of Jurisdiction) Amendment and Repeal Act 2004 Part 2 Division 113 comes into operation.

  • Payment Day means a day (other than a Saturday or Sunday) on which commercial banks and foreign exchange markets are open for business (including dealings in foreign exchange and foreign exchange currency deposits) in the principal financial centre for the Settlement Currency or if the Settlement Currency is euro, any day on which the Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer (TARGET) System is open;
